HBO Max on YouTube TV vs HBO Max App
Subscribing to Max through YouTube TV grants you access to both the Max app and HBO channels, similar to what you had with your previous provider.
With YouTube TV, on the other hand, you can subscribe only to HBO, which will grant access only to the HBO channels and none of the Max app. This makes both equally priced, so it’s very redundant you could have the HBO-only subscribed to, hence confusing users. It will probably be phased out later.
The capability of recording HBO channels, and all on-demand capabilities within YouTube TV, are available under either subscription. The subscription called Max carries access to the Max app with exclusive Max content.
In short-Go for the YouTube TV Max subscription. The HBO only option is superfluous when knowing the Max subscription covers everything that HBO does offer.
