How to Delete TikTok Story

TikTok introduced its Stories feature back in 2022. Just like on Instagram and Snapchat, this feature lets users share short videos that disappear after a set period of time. These temporary posts give creators a way to share quick updates or moments with their followers. But sometimes, you might change your mind and want to delete tiktok story.

Stories on TikTok can be up to 15 seconds long. Each one appears as a regular post in the feed with a tag that says story. If you upload several clips, they will be shown as segments within one story. For longer than 15 seconds story, you will need to break it into parts.

Now, what if you no longer want a story to be visible?
Here is a simple guide to help you remove a story post from your TikTok profile.

Steps to Delete TikTok Story

Removing a story is easy once you know how to do that. Just follow these instructions:

Step 1: Open TikTok on Your Device

First, launch the TikTok app on your phone or tablet. If you are not already signed in, enter your username or email and your password to log in. Once inside, tap the profile button located at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Find the Story You Want to Remove

Next, tap on your profile picture to open your active story. If you have more than one story posted, tap on the right side of the screen to move through them until you reach the one you want to delete.

Step 3: Use the Share Icon to Access Delete Option

Although it might seem odd, the delete option is located inside the sharing menu. Tap the arrow-shaped share icon in the bottom right corner of your story. A new menu will appear.

Step 4: Delete the Story

In this menu, you will see several options for sharing your story. Look to the far right of the list and you will see the delete button, Tap it. At this point, you will get a final prompt. You can either delete the post or go back and edit it.

How to Delete TikTok Story in App

Once the story is deleted, it will no longer visible to anyone. If you want to make sure, go back to your profile and tap your profile picture again, the story will not open.

If you have more than one story that needs to be removed, you will need to repeat this process for each one. TikTok currently does not allow you to delete multiple story posts all at once.
